| I am currently a software engineer for a advertising company, writing entripise level C# on the Microsoft .NET framework. This was an easy lateral move from my past 7 years of Java J2EE development. My hobbies include digital graphic design, photography, riding motorcycles, skiing, mountain biking, and playing pool. The is site isn't much, its just a place holder on my server where I occassionally deploy code that I am working on for a testing environment, and try out new technologies. My current little side project is the Faux-Proxy Which is almost up and running. If you want to try it out and see the very crude version go to it from inside a protected network that filters content and hit the load form. |

FAUX-PROXY is a CGI program that I wrote several years ago, and have recently brought back to life. It basically bounces a website request (URL) through my server to a destination server over a socket connection. The resulting HTML, IMG, etc will be returned to your browser from my server not the server your URL was refferencing. In essence, this works around any sort of site-specific blocking by local parenting controls, or firewall content control. The program still needs lots of work, initially it was only intended to view rejected images shown in emails, etc. I am now incorporating more navigation functionailty, it will soon allow navigation through links and some form submitals, oviously this will not work with sites using SSL certificates or javascript actions. |
